Car fans of course remember that legendary name, which has already reached 40 years. “King of the Road” was the most powerful car of its time, its engine Cobra Jet V-8 had a capacity of 400 horsepower. Carroll Shelby had won the title “King of the Road”, before General Motors managed to do it, claiming the title for its super-powerful Corvette.
Forty years swept in one moment. And now the car has been recreated. As in the past it exceeds Corvette with its power. Engine of a new GT500 is “charged” by 540 horsepowers.

There is much left in design of a new car from the original 1967 version. For example as the sideband and characteristic shape of the body. Ford Shelby GT500KR will be in silver colour with wide blue lines from the bonnet to boot. The new Ford Shelby GT500KR will be made under all new technologies that means it will have carbon containing body.

It is intended that the car will be set on sale in 2008.
