The safest cars of 2007
The American Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) has ranked the safest cars, among which are six models produced by Ford and seven by Honda car…

Today the number of cars in the world equipped with advanced active safety systems is growing quickly. So last year’s IIHS ranking contained only 13 models that were admitted to be really safe cars, the list of this year increased to 34 cars.
Rating was made of 6 classes, each of them has several cars that received the highest points on the aggregate level of performance of active and passive safety. The Institute conducted three different crash tests for each car claiming to enter the list of cars. The estimation included figures on protection from frontal and side impacts, as well as the level of protection of seats to body and neck from strikes behind. Moreover, the one of the obligatory condition on passing the test was the availability of an electronic stabilization control (ESC).
Organizers of tests asked do not compare the level of performance cars of various classes, because large size and mass of the car usually provides a higher level of safety.
